Welcome to Westwood Park
Welcome to Westwood Park
Situated in the Northern Mount Lofty Ranges, Westwood Park is a 61 hectare property on the Springton Road, Mount Crawford (13 km from Williamstown and about 4 km north east of Mount Crawford itself). It was purchased by Heather and David Thomas in 2002.
There was little infrastructure at the time of purchase, other than some basic fencing, an old settlers ruin and three small dams. Much has been done in the ensuing years, including the building of sheds, establishing an energy-efficient house, adding fencing and improving pasture.
Farm Forestry
Two wood lots were planted in 2002: one of Tasmanian blue gums (E globulus) and the other of sugar gums (E cladocalyx) and spotted gums (E maculata).
Prime Lamb Production
In 2007, 108 ewes (Merino-Border Leicester cross) and three rams (White Sullfolk) were purchased with the aim orfraising prime lambs. We are currently in our fourth season of lambing.
